The Committee on Education, Public Safety and the Arts will conduct a series of public hearings on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 9:00 am at the Public Hearing Room in the Guam Congress Building. The agenda is as follows:
  • Bill No. 63-37 (COR) - Joe S. San Agustin / Roy A. B. Quinata / Amanda L. Shelton / Tina Rose Muña Barnes / Dwayne T. D. San Nicolas / William A. Parkinson -AN ACT TO ADD A NEW CHAPTER 14 TO DIVISION 2, TITLE 17, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED; AND TO AMEND §5008.2 OF SUBARTICLE A, ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 5, TITLE 5, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED RELATIVE TO AUTHORIZING THE GUAM DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO DIRECTLY PURCHASE ITS OWN SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) SYSTEM. NS.
  • Bill No. 98-37 (COR) - William A. Parkinson / Roy A. B. Quinata - AN ACT TO ADD A NEW CHAPTER 55 OF DIVISION 5, TITLE 17, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED, RELATIVE TO MANDATING ALL GUAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO BE ADA COMPLIANT, AND TO CITE THIS ACT THE “GUAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS ADA COMPLIANCE ACT OF 2023.”
  • Bill No. 109-37 (LS) - Committee on Maritime Transportation, Air Transportation, Parks, Tourism, Higher Education and the Advancement of Women, Youth, and Senior Citizens by request of I Kongressun Manhoben Guåhan, the Guam Youth Congress, in accordance with 2 GCA §7102. - AN ACT TO ADD A NEW § 4124(b)(3) AND (4) TO CHAPTER 4 OF TITLE 17, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED, RELATIVE TO PROVIDING PARITY BY CREATING AN EXEMPTION FROM COMPLETING THE FULL SEVENTY-FIVE (75) HOURS OF SERVICE LEARNING REQUIREMENT FOR GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024 AND INSTEAD REQUIRE THE COMPLETION OF THIRTY-FIVE (35) HOURS OF SERVICE LEARNING AND FOR GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SCHOOL YEAR 2024-2025 AND INSTEAD REQUIRE THE COMPLETION OF FIFTY-FIVE (55) HOURS OF SERVICE LEARNING.
  • Bill No. 117-37 (COR) - Joe S. San Agustin / Roy A. B. Quinata / Dwayne T. D. San Nicolas / William A. Parkinson / Tina Rose Muña Barnes - AN ACT TO AMEND §3102.1 OF CHAPTER 3, TITLE 7, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED RELATIVE TO THE DUTIES OF THE GUAM EDUCATION BOARD.
