PUBLIC HEARING

Håfa Adai! The Committee on Health and Veterans Affairs will conduct a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 12, 2025, beginning at 2:00 P.M., in the Public Hearing Room of the Guam Congress Building.

The Committee will hear and accept testimony on the following:

  1. Bill No. 5-38 (COR) Joe S. San Agustin - AN ACT TO AMEND § 7120.2(d), CHAPTER 7, TITLE 16, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED RELATIVE TO VETERANS LICENSE PLATES DESIGNS AND RECOGNITIONS.


  2. Bill No. 92-38 (COR) – Sabrina Salas Matanane - AN ACT TO ADD A NEW § 1041 TO CHAPTER 10, TITLE 1, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED, RELATIVE TO DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER AS “VETERANS SERVICE RECOGNITION MONTH” IN GUAM AND ESTABLISHING PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES TO HONOR AND SUPPORT VETERANS THROUGHOUT THE MONTH.
 
  1. Bill No. 85-38 (COR) – Sabrina Salas Matanane -AN ACT TO REPEAL AND REENACT TO DIVISION 4, OF CHAPTER 41, TITLE 5, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED; ADD A NEW § 1103(C) TO CHAPTER 1, TITLE 18, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED; AMEND § 10101 OF CHAPTER 10, TITLE 18, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED; AND ADD A NEW § 1909(E) TO CHAPTER 19, TITLE 1, GUAM CODE ANNOTATED, RELATIVE TO ESTABLISHING THE GUAM STATE VETERANS AGENCY, PROVIDING FOR ITS GOVERNANCE AND OPERATIONS WITH AN ELECTED GUAM VETERANS GOVERNING COMMISSION, ESTABLISHING A VETERANS SERVICE PROVIDER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM, AND TO AUTHORIZE A PROCESS FOR SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR VETERANS’ SERVICES; TO BE KNOWN AS THE “GUAM VETERANS EMPOWERMENT ACT OF 2025”.

The Committee requests that testimonies be submitted at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled hearing.
