Position Overview:
Maga’låhen Hurao seeks an experienced, culturally grounded Gigihan Kinalamten (Operations Director) to lead the management of school operations including finance, enrollment, compliance, facilities, marketing, and strategic growth. This pivotal role requires a deep commitment to CHamoru language and culture, strong operational expertise, and collaborative leadership to support the Academy’s mission and community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the annual budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial sustainability.
- Supervise administrative and maintenance staff and oversee daily operations.
- Lead enrollment management, compliance reporting, and charter school requirements.
- Direct family engagement, communications, marketing, and outreach strategies.
- Manage facilities, technology systems, and vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with Executive Director and Board of Directors on operational planning and reporting.
- Ensure all systems align with CHamoru cultural values and legal standards.
- Proficiency in spoken and written CHamoru language and cultural fluency.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in operations management within education, nonprofit, or community-based organizations.
- Experience working respectfully within indigenous or CHamoru communities.
- Commitment to indigenous language revitalization, cultural responsiveness, and equity.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with indigenous or immersion education settings.
- Familiarity with charter school compliance and governance.
- Bicultural competency bridging CHamoru and Western education frameworks.
- Proficiency with technology systems and financial management tools.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning and community collaboration.
- Lived experience in cultural stewardship or community leadership valued as professional expertise.
