The Guam Environmental Protection Agency (Guam EPA) needs your help in reviewing Guam’s Water Quality Standards (WQS) per the Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 303(c).
• Section 303(c)(1) of the CWA and the US EPA regulations at 40 CFR 131.20 require that Guam, from time to time, but at least once every three years, hold public hearings to review applicable WQS and, as appropriate, modify and adopt WQS.
• With public input, Guam EPA will review existing water quality standards and identify additions and/or revisions that are necessary or appropriate to make sure Guam WQS meet requirements of the CWA and the needs of the island.
Guam EPA intends to revise Guam’s WQS in a variety of ways including:
• additions and revisions to current water quality criteria
• adopting implementation procedures or other general policies.
