Subject:           First Notice of Oversight Hearing - Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
 
Buenas yan Håfa adai! Please be advised that the Committee on Public Safety, Emergency Management, and Guam National Guard (Committee) will conduct an Oversight Hearing on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the Public Hearing Room of the Guam Congress Building in Hagåtña. The Oversight Hearing will cover the following topics:
 
  • Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Park Patrol Division
- Preparation for Performance-Based Budgeting;
- Impact of Law Enforcement Services Across Territorial Park System/DPR Operations Budget
- Status of Park Patrol Reserve Program

The Oversight Hearing will broadcast on local television, GTA Channel 21, Docomo Channel 117 and stream online via I Liheslaturan Guåhan’s live feed. A recording of the hearing will be available online via Guam Legislature Media on YouTube after the hearing.
 
How to Participate
Participation in the Oversight Hearing will be limited to representatives from the Department of Parks and Recreation Park Patrol Division; however, members of the public are welcome to attend the hearing.
 
If written testimonies are to be presented at the Oversight Hearing, the information may be submitted before February 25, 2026, and they should be addressed to Senator Shawn Gumataotao, Chairman of the Committee on Public Safety, Emergency Management, and Guam National Guard. Testimonies may be submitted via Senator Gumataotao’s mailbox located at the Guam Congress Building in Hagåtña or via email to his office at office.senatorshawn@guamlegislature.gov.
