Barrigada, GU – The Guam Department of Revenue and Taxation (“DRT”) announced today that it has processed and transmitted to the Treasurer of Guam additional EIP 3 Program payments for release. From April 10, 2021 through July 23, 2021, DRT processed over 82,937 payments totaling $216.2 million.

The Department of Revenue & Taxation has processed and the Department of Administration will mail checks for or pay by direct deposit 2,077 tax year 2020 and prior income tax refunds this week. Total income tax refunds paid is approximately $ 6,661,852 including refunds garnished to repay government debts. These represent payment of 2,077 error-free returns filed on or before April 15, 2021.

On Friday, July 23, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, in an inaugural memorial ceremony, laid a wreath at the World War II Memorial, Washington, D.C. Guam pillar in commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the Liberation of Guam. The event was hosted by the Guam Society of America, Inc. (GSA), the oldest Guam organization in the continental United States. Established in 1952, the society was formed by a group of CHamorus living in the nation’s capital who wished to represent their island home in the National Conference of State Societies.

Hagåtña, Guam - Today, Acting Governor Josh Tenorio directed the Department of Revenue and Taxation (DRT), upon the commencement of the All RISE application process, to accept applications without mayors’ verifications but otherwise satisfy all other requirements and to verify the residency of applicants with mayors after applications are submitted. When the application process opens, DRT will ask applicants to indicate their village of residence and work with mayors to verify residency in the order of application submission. “I am confident that this process will alleviate the increased demand for residency verifications at mayors’ offices,” said Acting Governor Tenorio. “We will continue to find ways to direct aid in the most effective and impactful ways so that our island can rebuild better than before.” Please see attached Memo to DRT. ###
