When actively searching for work, claimants must also keep a record using GDOL’s official form, Record of Contact Made for Work, which can also be found on the website. The form must be submitted with weekly claims every two weeks.
“We hope the video tutorial will help our claimants smoothly navigate through the new steps added to the weekly certification process for PUA. We understand that changes to the system can be confusing so we’re trying to make the process as clear and easy as possible,” said Department of Labor Director David Dell’Isola.
Don’t disqualify yourself from the weekly benefit by not fulfilling this new requirement. There are many ways to make three work search contacts a week. These include:

Registering for work on hireguam.com.

Visiting the American Job Center or other employment agency.

Applying for jobs by submitting a resume or interviewing.

Inquire about job openings and apply in person.

Attending a job fair, or other employment workshop that offers instruction on upskilling candidates in order to obtain employment.
However, there are a few exceptions. Those exempt from the work search requirement include:

Employees working reduced hours.

Individuals in an approved job training program.
-
Self-employed persons working to reestablish their business to its pre-pandemic state.
“PUA is ending Sept. 4 and this work search requirement only helps our economy and our people as we rebuild our workforce,” Dell’Isola added.
