Hagåtña, Guam – The Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration is pleased to share that Guam is featured in the latest travel issue of TIME magazine titled “The World’s Greatest Places.” Governor Lou Leon Guerrero participated in interviews, in addition to Guam Visitors Bureau President and CEO Carl Gutierrez and local tourism and hospitality industry professionals.
“We’ve always known our island to be the greatest place in the world, but now the world is surely beginning to catch on,” said Governor Leon Guerrero. “For decades, our growing tourism industry has encouraged the global community to see for themselves what makes our island a truly special place to live, work and visit. From our beautiful waters and landscapes to the warmth of our people and the inclusiveness of the CHamoru heritage, Guam is fast becoming a choice destination. We are ready to show the world what we have and how far we’ve come.”
“Our administration’s work to reform our government’s finances produced a surplus and freed up funding to revitalize our tourism offerings and the visitor experience in a way befitting today’s travelers,” said Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio. “The Governor gave an accurate assessment of our island and the initiatives we’re undertaking to diversify our economy and ensure that tourism benefits the people of Guam first. We are quickly moving past serving only as a strategic location and the world is taking notice. We are an island of resilience, of hope, and of opportunity.”
