Hagåtña, Guam - The Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration, in coordination with the Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) and the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS), announced the launch of a searchable online directory featuring programs supported by the Governor's After School and Community Care grant program. Now available on guamchildcare.com, the directory includes information on various programs, availability, location, and area of interest. The public is also invited to participate in the After School and Summer Camp Connect event to be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the first floor of the Micronesia Mall (old GAP location near the Macy’s Women’s entrance) to learn more from providers directly about their programs and how to register. The After School and Summer Camp Connect event will feature a scavenger hunt, raffle prizes, and information from providers, including the Guam Junior Golf League, Dear Tree Art Studio, The Pound Academy, World of Wonder, Lil Sprouts Academy, Itsy Bitsy Athesus, Santa Barbara School, and more!
“Our administration continues to invest heavily in our future by connecting our next generation to incredible opportunities for learning and growth,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero. “We’re also supporting our local businesses, non-profits, schools, faith-based and community-based organizations to enhance community learning opportunities and spur job creation.”
“As working families continue seeking after-school programming and prepare for the summer, our childcare program grants are meeting that need in innovative and exciting ways,” said Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio. “Over 200 providers are developing unprecedented opportunities for our youth to learn new skills, develop healthy habits, and explore new interests in various programs, including sports, literacy, culinary, health, STEM, and the arts. Many of these programs are currently available, with many others opening registration for summer camps, weekend workshops, and after-school activities for Guam’s youth.”
