$3.2M in Individual Tax Refunds Paid

PRESS RELEASE

Hagåtña, Guam – On June 23, 2023, the Department of Revenue & Taxation processed and the Department of Administration mailed checks or paid by direct deposit, 1,417 Individual Tax refund payments totaling $3,207,064.38 for Tax Year 2022 and prior error-free returns for returns filed on, or before, April 17, 2023.   

 

Refunds paid this week total 1,417 and all for Early Filers for Tax Year 2022.

 

Refunds paid to date for tax returns filed on or before the April 18, 2023 filing deadline total $130,484,258, or 75% of estimated refunds to be paid in FY 2023, and all ahead of the Court-Ordered Permanent Injunction deadline of October 15, 2023.  

 

Refunds continue to be paid weekly except for the setback of one week caused by Typhoon Mawar.  Due to the surge in the volume of returns filed for Tax Year 2022 through the deadline of April 18, 2023, and the setback caused by Typhoon Mawar on March 24, 2023, turnaround time now fluctuates between 3 to 8 WEEKS.
