Barrigada, GU – The Guam Department of Revenue and Taxation (“DRT”) advised today that it has been conducting inspections of lodging facilities. Lodging facilities include bed and breakfasts and short-term vacation rentals.
“I’m very proud of the work of our Compliance Team,” said Director Dafne Mansapit-Shimizu. “This is the second major set of successful operations that they’ve done this year. They continue to ensure that facilities are in compliance with the law.”
A total of 13 violations were issued to unlicensed operators. The Team also found that there were 35 operators which were improperly licensed.
21 GCA Chapter 61 sets forth the legal requirements for lodging facilities.
DRT reminds the community that they must ensure that they are not only licensed, but properly licensed when conducting business activities.
