PRESS RELEASE

Hagåtña, Guam - Government of Guam Retirees will be receiving their Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) payments nearly two weeks earlier than required by Guam law after Acting Governor Joshua Tenorio ordered the early release of over $20.2 million in COLA payments. Electronic transfers are expected to be deposited in retiree accounts, and checks will be available on October 18, 2023.

“In accordance with Public Law 37-42, this year, 8,783 retirees and survivors will receive $2,300 each by check or direct deposit,” said Acting Governor Tenorio. “Since taking office in 2019, our administration has prioritized and successfully provided the prompt payment of COLA to our island’s retirees, and we take great pride in being able to support our workers who have dedicated their careers to public service.”
