her campaign to build a Guam Medical Complex
will be addressing community groups during information meetings to build a Guam Medical Complex. These information meetings are in advance of a public hearing on Bill No. 184-37 (COR) scheduled for Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. at the Guam Congress Building Public Hearing Room. The proposed legislation supports Governor Leon Guerrero’s vision to build a medical complex in Barrigada, one that co-locates a hospital, public health center, behavioral health, veterans clinic, pharmacy, and specialty care clinics in addition to medical providers’ offices. The information meetings are complemented by the launch of an online petition to Build A Medical Complex for Guam.
The community is invited to participate in any of the following meetings:
“Lawmakers have publicly stated that if they were involved in the discussion and planning, they would support the building of a medical complex. In addition to meeting with senators, I want to share this vision with our community, with groups that are adversely affected, and all concerned citizens,” said Governor Leon Guerrero. “Limiting ourselves to building a stand-alone hospital ensures we only receive standard hospital care. Expanding our vision to build a state-of-the-art medical complex with specialized care for patients supports our nurses and local medical industry, decreases drive time between facilities, and improves function and operations. We now have a unique opportunity to bring world-class healthcare to Guam so that recovery can start where it should–at home!”
