"Starting this Friday, on the Feast of Santa Marian Kamalen, thousands of our island’s faithful will gather for a procession around our island’s capital. Santa Marian Kamalen has historically been an island icon and symbol of unity, resilience, and strength. In conjunction with the local holiday, we will begin the nightly Christmas holiday lights at Skinner Plaza,” said Acting Governor Joshua Tenorio. “Additionally, we are proud to bring back the Parade of Lights on December 21st. Last year's inaugural event was a huge success and fun for the whole family. With the Guam Territorial Band leading our parade, we look forward to showcasing our Government of Guam agencies, village floats, and other floats from members in the community looking to spread the holiday spirit.”
On Thursday, December 21, the Parade of Lights will feature the participation of various government agencies, showcasing the spirit of unity and joy. On this night, The Guam Museum grounds will also be adorned with booths, adding to the festive atmosphere and fun for all ages.
Members of the public are welcome to join in the festivities. Those interested in participating in the Parade of Lights event must register on or before December 15, 2023. Registration can be completed at https://forms.gle/
