Six COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported
The Joint Information Center was notified of six COVID-19-related fatalities reported between September 29 - October 3, 2021:

The 199th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the U.S. Naval Hospital (USNH) Guam on September 29, 2021. The patient was a 52-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on September 29.

The 200th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on September 30, 2021. The patient was a 27-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. He tested positive on September 30.

The 201st COVID-19-related fatality occurred at GMH on September 30, 2021. The patient was a 62-year-old female, vaccinated, with underlying health conditions, and was a known COVID positive.

The 202nd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) on October 1, 2021. The patient was a 69-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions, and was a known COVID positive.

The 203rd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at GRMC on October 2, 2021. The patient was a 52-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions, and was a known COVID positive.

The 204th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at GRMC on October 3, 2021. The patient was an 83-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions, and was a known COVID positive.

For those who are grieving, Jeff, Josh, and I pray for healing in your most difficult time,” said Governor Lou Leon Guererro. “While this battle with COVID-19 has felt never ending, we will continue our aggressive efforts to combat this virus with all the tools and resources available to us.”

Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 103 New Cases of COVID-19 from October 1 – 3
Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 40 new cases of COVID-19 out of 246 tests performed on October 3. Five (5) cases were identified through contact tracing.
An additional 63 cases were also reported today as a result of complete analysis and case submissions from other clinics for preliminary COVID-19 test results reported October 2 – 3. Official case counts for the past weekend results are as follows:

October 2: 122 of 1,425 test positive for COVID-19 (84 cases previously reported). 23 cases were identified through contact tracing.

October 3: 135 of 1,217 test positive for COVID-19 (110 cases previously reported). 34 cases were identified through contact tracing.
To date, there have been a total of 15,465 officially reported cases, 204 deaths, 2,223 cases in active isolation, and 13,038 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 27.5.
Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Booster Shots Available
Booster Shots are available at the University of Guam Calvo Field House for people who had a normal immune response to the first two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, but because of time, antibody levels are beginning to wane. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is the only FDA authorized vaccine to administer as a booster. The following groups of people are eligible for a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech if they completed the Pfizer-BioNTech series (first two doses) and it has been 6 months or more since the second dose:

Anyone age 65+

Anyone age 18+ with underlying medical conditions

Anyone 18+ with an elevated risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission due to their occupation (e.g. healthcare workers, law enforcement, fire, K-12 teachers and support staff, university faculty, daycare employees, food and agriculture workers, manufacturing workers, USPS workers, corrections workers, public transit workers, grocery store workers) or living settings
