Guam Healthcare Providers Coalition provides successful Medical Mission

PRESS RELEASE

Mangilao, July 28, 2025 – In partnership with Guam Healthcare Providers Coalition (GHPC), DYA successfully hosted a medical mission at the Håya Youth Resource Center in Hågat. On July 27th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Over 50 youth received free school and sports physicals in preparation for the upcoming school year. The medical mission is voluntary and primarily offers physicals, with immunizations provided when supplies are available. These services and materials were donated by volunteers from GHPC, Lions Club International, UOG’s Pre-PA Club, and The Doctor’s Clinic.
A key aspect of these missions is the use of DYA’s Centers to host the events, along with DYA staff who identify families in need of medical services—those who might otherwise lack the resources or transportation to access clinics.
The collaboration with GHPC has been ongoing for over three years. GHPC consistently provides at least one physician for each medical mission. These events are held at least once annually at each Youth Resource Center, as well as at DYA’s detention and residential facility in Mangilao.
