Traffic Advisory for February 23 - March 1, 2026

Road Safety Reminder for the Week

Manage Your Speed

 

Make sure you manage your speed and slow down when conditions call for it. Regardless of the posted speed limit, your speed should depend on:

  • The number of vehicles on the road.
  • The speed of other vehicles on the road.
  • The road surface: smooth, rough, graveled, wet, dry, wide, or narrow.
  • Bicyclists or pedestrians on or crossing the road.
  • Weather: rain, fog, wind, or dust.
  • Traffic congestion: small changes in your driving habits can help reduce congestion. Avoid weaving in and out of lanes.

Guam Construction Update

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through the construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed flaggers (when present). Alternate routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
 
Islandwide Primary Roads Paving and Pavement Markings TO-4
Route 10 – Chalan Pago-Ordot/Mangilao/Barrigada

Construction activities will continue along Route 10 from February 23 to March 1, 2026. Contractor crews will be working at various locations along Route 10 throughout the week. Intermittent lane closures in both directions are expected during work hours:
  • Monday–Friday, 2/23/2026 – 2/27/2026: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Between Tri-intersection and Route 32 for manhole adjustments and striping works)
  • Saturday, 2/28/2026: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Route 15)
  • Sunday, 3/1/2026: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Between Payless and Route 32, paving works)

Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and plan their travel time accordingly. Please slow down and comply with posted speed limits when traveling through the work zone. Remain alert for uneven pavement surfaces and temporary steel plates, and drive safely at all times.
 
Route 4 Replacement of Ylig Bridge (Phase 2) – Ylig Memorial
General construction activities will continue for the Ylig Memorial Project. These activities will not affect the flow of traffic.

The contractor, Korando Corporation, will be working from 7:00 AM till 4:00 PM on weekdays only. No construction activities are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays.
 
Primary Roads Pavement Pothole Repair for Route 17, Yona
Samsung E&C America's contractor will continue repairs along Route 17, Cross Island Road from the Route 17/Route 4A intersection to the Yona Solar Project Site. Work will occur between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM Monday - Friday. There will be intermittent lane closures in both directions during work hours.
 
DPW HMC Grass Cutting
The DPW HMC crew will be grass cutting at the following locations, weather permitting:
  • Bush cutting Route 25, Alageta Road (Macheche)
  • Bush cutting Route 4 Hagåtña
  • Side cutting Route 4 Malesso'
Work will occur between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday - Friday.
 
Islandwide Grass Cutting Maintenance Project
The DPW contractor will be grass cutting at the following locations, weather permitting:
  • Monday, 2/23/26 – Friday, 2/27/26: Route 1, Marine Corps Dr
  • Wednesday, 2/25/26 – Friday, 2/27/26: Route 15 (Yigo/Mangilao)
  • Saturday, 2/28/26: Route 17, Cross Island Road (Yoña/Santa Rita-Sumai)
  • Saturday, 2/28/26: Route 3, Brigadier General Ben Blaz Highway (NCTS, Dededo)
Work will occur between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The DPW asks motorists to please proceed with caution and remain alert for traffic control signs and work crews.
