International Arrivals Corridor Activates with First Arriving Flight on January 25, 2022

The A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, Guam (GIAA) is proud to announce the new INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS CORRIDOR (IAC) will begin receiving international arriving passengers today, with the arrival of Jin Air Flight #641 from Incheon, Korea.

A ribbon cutting was held Friday, January 21, 2022 to celebrate the full completion of this project – the second largest project in the Guam International Airport’s history. It was in 2005 that the Transportation Security Agency mandated GIAA to separate TSA screened from non-TSA screened passengers. Funded by 2013 General Revenue Bonds and FAA grants, the IAC project broke ground in July of 2017.

The IAC is a 3rd floor sterile corridor that sits atop the concourse level of Guam’s Airport. All arriving passengers from foreign ports will be directly routed to the new 3rd floor by escalator and/or elevator and proceed directly the US Customs and Border Protection Hall, completely separated from departing passengers. This will allow the Airport to finally remove the temporary gray barriers in the concourse once shared by arriving and departing passengers and achieve the aesthetics of the original architecture without the dreary security walls fully lining the middle of the concourse.

“We are excited to go live with this new routing for arriving passengers from foreign ports with the arrival of Jin Air Flight #164 at 2:40 pm. Passengers will be welcomed in this new airy space with direct routing to USCBP. Our departing passengers can now focus on retail and food and beverage concessions all throughout the 2nd Floor, with no more dividers to limit movement. We thank our investors, stakeholders and the Guam community as we move forward with operations of the new IAC, and now welcome all visitors with a much improved, efficient and secure arrival process,” stated Executive Manager John M. Quinata.
