Hagåtña, Guam – On March 3, 2023, the Department of Revenue & Taxation processed and the Department of Administration mailed checks, or paid by direct deposit, 1,700 Individual Tax refund payments totaling $5,911,684 for Tax Year 2022 and prior error-free returns for returns filed on, or before, February 1, 2023.
Hagåtña, Guam - The Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration, in coordination with the Guam Police Department (GPD), has released the 2021 Uniform Crime Report (UCR), which highlights an increase in drug-related arrests and decrease in violent crimes, burglaries and motor vehicle thefts. The UCR is an incident-based summary of offenses and incidents serving as a reliable source of information to assess the trends of crime in an area over a duration of time.
Crime Rates Drop Under the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration
Calling all of Guam’s Middle and High School students interested in participating in the Department of Youth Affairs Island Leadership Day. For one day, participants will be youth counterparts to Guam’s leaders in the Government of Guam, Legislature, and Mayors Offices. This experience will provide our island’s future workforce with a glimpse of the day-to-day operations and skill sets required for a high-functioning and responsive government. This event is scheduled to take place on April 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration proudly announces that Dafne Mansapit-Shimizu, Director of the Guam Department of Revenue & Taxation, was recognized as the recipient of the Distinguished Local Government Leadership Award during the Association of Government Accountants’ (AGA) National Leadership Training (NLT) 2023 event on February 23 in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes local government professionals who exemplify and promote excellence in government financial management and who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in enhancing sound financial management legislation, regulations, practices, policies, and systems within the past year.

Today, the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration announced that Guam is one of the first U.S. territories to be approved for funding from the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI). Guam is receiving $58.6 million to operate three programs: a loan guarantee, a collateral support, and an equity/venture capital program.

The Guam Green Growth (G3) Steering Committee Co-Chairs, Lt. Governor Joshua F. Tenorio and UOG Center for Island Sustainability & Sea Grant Director Dr. Austin Shelton, conducted a series of presentations and discussions with President of Palau Surangel Whipps Jr. and his Cabinet earlier this month. Following the success of G3 implementation projects, new funding from the Local2030 Islands Network and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will enable Guam to help neighboring islands establish their own green growth initiatives. The regional coalition will create new green industries and jobs to support a sustainable and prosperous future.
